"Last year we placed over 250 animals into loving homes. The majority of these animals would have had met certain death at a local animal shelter where they would have been euthanized for lack of space, or they could have been the very unfortunate ones that try to fend for themselves on the streets where they are continually threatened with starvation in addition to being injured or killed when hit by motorists," said Carol Mielke.
"Animals, especially domestics, are unable to fend for themselves in our human world, and we as humans brought them into our lives, so we must care for them, speak for them, represent their best interests, and ultimately take responsibility for them, much the way we do for our children.
